Pumpkins Aren't Just for Halloween!
Wondering what to do with your pumpkins that are leftover from carving? Or maybe you haven't had the chance to make it to the pumpkin patch just yet. Don't worry Halloween doesn't mark the end of pumpkin season!
Make baked goods with extra pumpkins and still have the pumpkin patch experience, picking out your fav pumpkins from the patch and working your way through the corn maze!
Give your pumpkins to a local farmer for use as animal feed or for them to grow and cultivate new pumpkins!
Make sweet pumpkin butter with leftovers, here's how: according to https://www.thereadystore.com/ - "Add 2 cups of pumpkin puree into a saucepan along with a cup of brown sugar and a cup of water or apple cider. You can then add a pinch of salt along with some pumpkin pie spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. all the ingredients together and bring it to a boil. After it reaches a boil, lower the temperature and allow it to simmer for 25 minutes. Once the butter has cooled, store in a glass jar and refrigerator."
Use your jack-o-lantern as a candle! If your pumpkin isn't quite done yet, go ahead and add your fav spice (cinnamon, thyme, cranberry, etc.) to the inside coating of the jack-o-lantern and light your tea light inside, this will give a natural fall aroma!
A helpful tip if you would like to disregard your pumpkin is to take it to the local compost area as a safe and sustainable way to disregard leftover pumpkins rather than throwing them in the trash!
Hopefully, you're feeling inspired to get baking, head to the pumpkin patch, or re-use those pumpkin leftovers!
